Manufacturer - HiFi
Redgum Audio is probably the only Australian audio manufacturer to design complete Hi-Fi systems for Stereo and Home Theatre, and build them entirely in Australia!
The first prototype Redgum Hi-Fi amplifiers were designed, by Ian Robinson, in late 1993. By early 1994, they were instantly recognisable with their red gum wood front panel and remembered as “the amp with the key” (referring to the on-off key switch). Formal production was well in place by the time the business name of “Redgum Audio” was registered in mid 1995.
The range has grown over the years to include Redgum’s own CD players, a range of speakers (for Stereo and Home Theatre) along with Stereo amplifiers and massive Home Theatre amplifiers with Redgum’s own proprietary processing.
Redgum’s doubly unique CD player was a world-first by using a CD ROM drive and being user serviceable. It was launched in 1998 at The Hi-Fi Show in London.
The core principles of the amplifier design have remained unchanged since late 1993.
They have won numerous international and Australian awards.

2009 saw Redgum move from their premises at 3/25 Clarice Road,
Box Hill South VIC 3128 to the new location in Emerald (ah, the green of it all).
