New IMX644 digital installation mixer provides integrators with a simple and flexible sound mixing solution for a wide variety of venue applications.
Yamaha Commercial Audio announces the launch of the IMX644 rackmount digital mixer. Developed for venue install applications such as conference rooms, banquet halls, bars and restaurants, the IMX644 delivers excellent sound quality, is easy to install, and offers highly intuitive operation for both inexperienced and experienced users.
The IMX644 is a compact 2U rackmount unit which features six Euroblock mono mic/line inputs (each with individual +48V control), four RCA stereo inputs and an additional optical digital input. Outputs comprise two pairs of stereo Euroblock connectors plus two channels of mono output. RCA and optical digital outputs are also available for recording purposes.
In releasing the IMX644, Yamaha continues its unsurpassed track record of 21-plus years in digital mixer manufacturing.

While the IMX644 is an ideal option for any fixed installation, it is also designed to integrate seamlessly with all 26 models in Yamaha’s Installation Series loudspeaker range, offering superior sound quality and flexibility without the need to incorporate third party products. The addition of the IMX644 to Yamaha’s extensive line of sound reinforcement products provides contractors and integrators with a cost-effective and complete Yamaha solution for small- to medium-sized installs.
Despite the IMX644’s simple front panel design, its many advanced features are easily accessible using Yamaha’s IMX644 Manager software when connected to a computer via the mixer’s USB port. Features accessible via the IMX644 Manager utility include a feedback suppressor and automatic ducking on all mono inputs, 6-band parametric EQ, and digital delay and output balance on all outputs. Complete configurations can be saved to any one of 16 instantly-recallable scenes. The IMX644 also provides GPI inputs and outputs as well as an RS232-C remote connection which enables remote control via third party systems such as AMX or Crestron programmable touch panels.
The RRP price for a IMX644 digital installation mixer, as at April 2009 was $6,000.
