Makes you wonder when you see a couple of company logos that look so similar. Even more so when the products are close to identical and the second company reports that it has even "tried to get as close as possible".
To quote good old Julius Sumner Miller "How is this so"

Putting the politics aside, Avantone seem to have come up with a reasonable product that will fill a hole created when Auratone stopped selling the small wooden cube so in demand by many studios around the globe.
We know that Auratone have remained popular because repair centre's have often grizzled about not being able to source original drivers and cones to repair "the real McCoy" Auratones bought in by people saying they desperately needed them as a reference.
It will be interesting to see if the cube market takes off as big as it did in the 70's because, although people who had used Auratone seldom wanted to let them go, they eventually became replaced by the myriad of small boxes manufactured by a swath of suppliers.

Avantone have a passive model but the recently released Mixcube is powered and looks to possible become the most preferred option because being powered makes it easier to align the mix levels when you switch between main monitors and the small cubes.
