Native Instruments Introduce the Kontrol X1 for Traktor.
19th February 2010 - Jason Hearn

Native Instruments (distributed by CMI) have announced the Kontrol X1 – a dedicated controller for their award
winning Traktor DJ Software platform. The Kontrol X1 gives Traktor users direct control of their decks and effect parameters. It features robust rotary knobs and backlight buttons, providing precise visual feedback – letting the user delve deep inside Traktor without having to touch the computer.

The Kontrol X1’s surface features clearly laid-out sections for cueing, synching and pitching tracks. Push encoders allow for track browsing and loading to each deck instantly. It has a dedicated effects section with 8 knobs and 8 buttons for simultaneous access to all effect parameters for both decks. The unit also has direct access to eight hotcues per track, making it easy to remix tracks on the go.

The Kontrol X1 is also a flexible multipurpose MIDI controller which can easily adapted for use with other applications such as Serato Scratch Live™, Ableton Live™ or your favourite midi application. Traktor LE (Lite Edition) is even included in the box to get users started.

The unit is powered off a sole USB connection, so users will have no need to worry about any AC adaptors. The latest versions of Traktor will automatically recognise and map the X1 to Traktor. If you’re a three or four deck user, Traktor will happily accept two X1s plugged in side-byside. Already Traktor DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Craze, Klever, Kenny Larkin, Loco Dice, Martinez Brothers’ Stevie, Rafik and Treasure Fingers have incorporated the Kontrol X1 into their live setups.
