ARX - DI Pre - Microphone Preamplifier to the "AudiBox" Range

The "DI Pre" DI-Preamp is an Ultra compact Microphone Pre amp featuring balanced XLR mic input, balanced jack output, user-variable+10 to +60dB Gain control, -20 dB Pad with status LED, Clip LED and Phantom Power switch with status LED.

Typical applications include interfacing Microphone and Line Level signal sources to Professional Audio Systems for Studio,  Performance, Broadcast and Installation.

The DI Pre is powered by an external 12 VDC supply and is housed in a heavy duty all-steel chassis finished in attractive matt textured powdercoat, with hardwearing epoxy screen printing and slip resistant rubber pads. Security features include Kensington®-type computer lock slot and optional bracket kit for under-table mounting.

For Stereo and Dual Channel applications the DI Pre is also available in ARX's unique "double header" two channel format as the "DI Pre Duo".

Technical specifications include:

  • Mic Input Impedance: 2K Ohms Balanced; XLR type Pin 1 Audio Ground, Pin 2

  • Phantom Power Voltage: Switchable +18 V DC on XLR Pins 2 and 3
  • Input Gain: +10 dB Minimum, variable to +60 dB Maximum
  • Pad Switch:  -20 dB attenuation
  • LED Overload Indicator Measured at all Gain points throughout the circuitry
  • Output Noise: -80 dB Unweighted, -86 dB 'A' weighted
    (Measured with Gain nominal 20 dB)
  • Frequency Response 20 - 20 KHz ± 0.25 dB
  • Distortion :100 Hz 0.0085%, 1 KHz 0.008%, 10 KHz 0.0083%
    (Measured with Mic Gain @ 20 dB)
  • Input Connector:  Balanced 3 pin Female XLR mic input, wired Pin 1 Ground,
    Pin 2 + Hot, Pin 3 -
  • Output Connector:  Insulated Tip Ring Sleeve balanced jack
  • Power Requirements:  12-15V DC from external supply
  • Construction: All-steel powdercoated chassis, fibreglass PCB
