Buzz Audio was formed in 1985 by Tim Farrant to provide Professional Audio services. Tim's background in television broadcasting (Avalon Television Studios), A/V production, hi-fi amplifier design, technical installations, and live sound mixing (winner, sound engineer of the year award New Zealand Music Awards) brought together a range of technical skills which provided the expertise that Buzz Audio has been founded on.

The company sells and installs equipment into many and varied places. The manufacturing came about because of Tim's interest. They hand make and test all their products in-house.
