d&b audiotechnik - ROPE C - software
2005

d&b audiotechnik's ROPE C is a PC based graphical drag and drop user interface enabling total control of d&b systems through a screen based virtual surface. d&b has introduced the latest release of Rope C Version 1 that allows the D12 and E-PAC amplifiers to be controlled and monitored via their CAN-Bus interfaces.

Rope C Version 1 allows systems to be remotely configured and gives central access to the user definable EQ and delay functions through a graphical interface. Operating elements for all the D12 and E-PAC loudspeaker specific configurations can easily be incorporated into an application from the internal library.

The d&b Remote network is intended for use in any application, either mobile or installed, in which d&b loudspeakers are used. ROPE C is equally at home when used in a jazz club with a small number of amplifiers as it is in an arena touring system, a stadium sound installation, or a large presentation system.

The addition of the d&b Remote network to the loudspeaker range enhances and further extends d&b's integrated systems approach. The D12 and E-PAC amplifiers are both fitted as standard with CAN-Bus interfaces. CAN-Bus is a Controller Area Network (CAN) field bus. Several types of CAN-Bus interfaces are also available from d&b for use with PCs operating Microsoft Windows 2000/XP® or higher.

ROPE C can interrogate a system of D12s and E-PACs and then create a list of the connected devices. From this list a user can construct a dedicated application to control and monitor elements of the system as required. Amplifier functions can be grouped, while presets and system configurations can be saved for later retrieval. Applications may also be created and prepared in advance without the system being connected. ROPE C is able to provide this functionality from anywhere in the venue using proprietary wireless LAN technology, making it an incredibly powerful tool.

Since early 2004 ROPE C in beta formats has been used in a multitude of applications and this extensive test program has now culminated in this Version 1 release.
