Event - 2020bas - Active studio monitors
2006

Francis Buckley, took the very first pair of 20/20bas™ and won a Grammy for the project he mixed on them.

The 20/20bas have made themselves a standard in biamplified direct field monitor systems and now the legacy continues with the 20/20bas V2.

The 2020bas uses the time-tested low and high frequency driver elements found in the original 20/20: a 1" silk dome high frequency driver and an 8" mineral-impregnated polypropylene cone low frequency driver.

Also from the original: the active asymmetrical fourth-order crossover.

Paired with two custom low noise amplifiers (130W LF driver / 70W HF driver). And a toroidal transformer. The basic amplifier designs are descended from the amplifiers newly-created for the flagship Studio Precision™ line, with modifications made to customize the amplifiers’ performance specifically for the 20/20bas V2 transducers. Why two amplifiers, you ask? Because giving each transducer its own amplifier gives the system increased dynamic range. Higher SPL. Greater transient response, improved damping, smoother phase response, lower intermodulation distortion.

Independent low and high frequency trim controls, make it easy to adjust the speakers’ response to your particular monitoring environment. You also get balanced XLR and ¼" inputs, continuously variable input gain control and full protection circuitry.
