How to fix hum on the video picture
Feb 2004

Often people working with video get hum bars on their pictures. This is mostly due to earthing problems normally associated with the use of unbalanced video cables. To overcome this we suggest using a small product called the "Gatton". Brilliant in it's simplicity, it basically isolates the video and so removes any ground loop hum problems. Just adds to our belief that most good ideas are fairly simple.

As a plus, the Gatton can also be used as a 1 in 2 output distribution amplifier ( video splitter) and comes complete with gain and eq adjustments.

An excellent piece of kit for bugger all money really. You should be able to pick them up from your favorite dealer for around $560 inc GST (Australian dollars). These are such standard fodder for any professional that, if the retailer doesn't have one in stock you may have to ask yourself if you are shopping in the right place. Overseas customers should contact Quinto direct on Ph.61(0)3 - 9558 9377.

An immensely helpful little box. Great to have in your "Fix-it" kit.
