Advice from punters
1976

"Hey buddy, kin yah turn the guitar up a bit?". Hey fella, what you should do is make the drums a bit louder". "My brothers cousin knows the singer, can you turn her up a bit?". "Put some more bass on the kick drum". "Kin yah make the singa cleara?". - Fuck off, the lot of you.

There is nothing more shitfull than a bunch of drunken punters who decide they can run the PA better than the front of house guy. And yet they insist on standing behind him handing out "free" advice.

We can only imagine that your average dentist, truck driver, or lawyer would get a bit peeved if every time they did their job, some loud mouthed arsehole stood there and said "What you should do is..." or "Hey buddy, why don't you....".

Maybe all the FOH guys should try it. Next time your on the bus, cruise up to the driver and say "Hey buddy, if you turn left up here, I can show you a short cut". Or to the timber worker, "Cut it again and you'll have more pieces". Or at the dentists you could simply say "Give me half the money and I'll punch the lot of them out for you".

What ever you do for a living (even if you do FOH for another band), just go to a gig and enjoy the event. Please don't bother to give anybody any advice. We assure you, they will survive without it.
